November found the and the girls working diligently through school. Troy was supposed to have a trip but it was canceled because of the government shutdown. We made a trip to Iowa to visit Troy's Grandpa and Grandma Carley. We had a good visit with Grandpa and Grandma Carley. We used one of Troy's free nights to stay at a hotel so the girls could swim in the pool. The water in the pool was chilly to say the least but Troy and the girls swam for a while.

Abby and Elizabeth often lead out in singing between the services at church.

We stayed home at for Thanksgiving. Here is a picture of our table that the girls set and what we had to eat.

Ann's brother Ted, his wife Sara, daughter Hannah and Ann's mom, Lynell, came down from Michigan to visit. We burned a brush pile and enjoyed the warmth. Ann had given Troy some specially treated pine cones to burn in the fire. We enjoyed the colors in the fire and it reminded Troy of when his Grandpa Hart would have fires at his house and put some similar material into the fire to make the special colors.

We went to Meramec State Park to walk on a trail that we had found earlier in the year. Abigail and Ted walked over this large log.

Hannah, Abigail and Elizabeth sang for us to close the Sabbath at the amphitheater at the Park. It was very nice and we enjoyed the treat. When we went over to the river we saw a bald eagle but we were not able to get a picture before it flew out of sight.
