October found Troy working for a new company - Leidos. Science Applications International Corporation for whom he used to work ceased to exist and divided up into Leidos and SAIC. Troy still works for the same people doing the same work in the same place so it is a little unusual. The government shutdown caused two of Troy's trips to be canceled.

The biggest event so far this year for us was Abigail's baptism. Troy was very blessed to be able to baptize Abby. We went to Powder Valley for a walk after church and enjoyed some time outdoors together.

Abigail received a picture and a book as baptismal gifts.

Elizabeth turned 10 this year. Follow this link to look at some pictures of her birthday celebration.

We had our first frost in October so the night before our garden was frosted we harvested all the jelly melons from the vines. Ann and the girls also made and decorated some Christmas cookies.

Troy took Abigail and Elizabeth to the Fall Harvest Festival again this year. Elizabeth made a suncatcher and we visited with some of the people we made friends with when we used to have a honey-booth at this festival a number of years ago. Troy was very interested in the green houses that they have been using to grow vegetables. The girls enjoyed a ride in a horse-drawn wagon.
