The first week Troy helped with the mine rescue contest in Rolla. Each underground mine is required to have a mine rescue team or have an agreement from a mine rescue team to be on-call if they need assistance. This event gave opportunities for the mine rescue teams to practice in a safe location. One day Troy helped reset the course after each team went through it and another day he judged the gas detector instrumentation problem.

The first two pictures here show the importance of the old saying, measure twice, cut once.

Abby enjoyed a break from college one weekend and visited Ted, Sara, Alan, Hannah, Pumpkin, and Cinnamon.

We celebrated Elizabeth's birthday. We enjoyed an apple pie instead of cake since Elizabeth prefers pies to cake.

Barbara, one of Troy's friends from CMSU was thinking about starting to keep honeybees. She came out and we put her in a beesuit so she could actually open up a hive to see if it was really something she wanted to do. It was a good day and the bees were well behaved. Barb didn't get stung. Ann and Elizabeth made homemade pizzas while they were out working the bees in the back yard. We had a nice visit with Barb.

Elizabeth made Troy a batch of no-bake cookies to take with him to the Mine Academy. She gave him a nice hug before he left. They were very yummy and reminded him of how much he missed home cooking, while at the Mine Academy.

Abby let us know about a Creation Weekend that the was occurring in Berrien Springs, MI. Here is a link to the event. Troy was able to watch some of it while he was in West Virginia. We hope you are able to check out the recordings and that they are a blessing to you like they have been to us.

Troy moved all the tropical plants we have into the house before he left for the Mine Academy. He also dug up our sweet potatoes and here is the harvest we were blessed with. These were grown in relatively shallow containers and we believe that is why they have such unusual shapes.

After being home for two weeks Troy went back to the Mine Academy to attend Module 2 for three weeks.

He explored a little in the Glade Creek Area

He went back to Little Beaver State Park

The Grandview Area provided some magnificent views.
