Cardinal's Baseball Game August 2009
Elizabeth was very excited to have won the baseball tickets. Troy, Ann, Abigail and Elizabeth loaded up and went to the game. The weather forecast called for some severe thunderstorms. We parked several blocks away from the stadium and walked in the rest of the way. As you can see in the pictures below we were pretty close to the top of the stadium. Elizabeth did well riding the high escalators and climbing up the last few rows.
We were all wearing our red shirts and we took plenty of water to drink. Elizabeth noticed that there was an arch cut into the stadium grass.
Elizabeth liked the frozen lemonade we got at the game. She also liked it when they worked on the field between innings.
The roar of the crowd scared her when there was a hit. There were several possibilities for a grandslam during the game but it didn't happen. One of the other players did run into the wall during the game. He got up and said he was OK but he later missed several catches he probably should have made.
Elizabeth really liked the sunset during the game and insisted that we take some pictures periodically. Here are a few of the shots we have of the sunset at different stages.
We finally left the game near the end of the 6th inning.
It turns out we didn't miss any runs being scored and we also missed the heavy traffic after the game. It was still a late night out for the girls and our "free" tickets only cost of about $40.00 by the time we parked and had a few snacks at the game.
Being a safety professional Troy noticed a pallet partially blocking the stairs on the way out. As you can see he could not resist taking a picture.
