May 2009
In May on Sabbath afternoon we went for a walk at a conservation area near our home where we had never been before. We had a good hike and a little further than we planned. Of course, we found that we got into a lot of ticks. We did see a number of butterflies and we even have a few where the pictures even turned out well. Here are some pictures of our Sabbath afternoon walk.
Troy occasionally gets calls from people with bee problems. One day in this May he got a call from some people with bees in a wall of their house. He was able to get the bees out of their house and they also turned out to be blueberry customers. They were happy that Troy was able to remove the bees from their house. Here are a few pictures of the bee removal operation.
The next week Troy got a call from another homeowner about some bees in their house. Yes, here it was two weeks in a row people were calling with bees in their homes. Here are a few pictures of the bee removal operation. While Troy was removing these bees he missed a call from a third homeowner with bees in their house. Fortunately, they found someone else to help them with their problem.
Troy got to see spring a second and a third time this spring. He went to Minneapolis one week and the next week he went to Minot, ND where it was early spring.
Troy was left at home when everyone else when to Michigan for a visit to Ann's family. One day while everyone else was away Troy was out picking the strawberries and he found this tiny turtle. The strawberries do not look so good because those are the ones that were going to be discarded. Troy was not sure if the turtle would eat the strawberries so he didn't want to feed the turtle the ones we were going to eat.
