We stayed home for Independence Day. Again this year we had neighbors that provided some fireworks while we were trying to sleep.

Elizabeth got her wisdom teeth extracted. She insisted that no pictures or videos of the ordeal or its aftermath be taken.

There was a fatal motorcycle accident just south of our house. The bike went about 307 feet from the road and ended up in the grass near our pond. The bike impacted a 6-inch thick sasafrass tree in the fence row and snapped the tree in two, otherwise the bike would likely have ended up in the pong.

We found this colorful worm working on our filbert tree that has not done well since we planted it.

Abby came home from camp and we enjoyed a short time with her.

We traveled to Iowa and visited with Grandpa Carley after the doctor told him he had about two weeks left. It was nice to be able to tell him Good-bye. He passed away at home with family at the end of the month.

Abby received a call to come back to school as assistant head RA instead of just an RA. She went back to school at the end of the month.
