We had not seen Troy's parents since August at his Grandpa's funeral so we met them at Ha Ha Tonka State Park. We did walk around a little but mostly talked and Elizabeth received some birthday presents. They also gave Troy some items they had brought from Grandpa Carley's house, mostly some old slides so he could go through them.

Our old hot waterheater finally reached a point where we couldn't get a full shower without running out of hot water. Troy had replaced the upper element several times and we had put vinegar in it several times to dissolve the hard water deposits. We prayed and Troy cut the water pipes so we were committed to the replacement. He soldered 13 joints and in answer to our prayers they were all water-tight the first time! We have been enjoying nice long hot showers again. Troy broke open the old hotwater heater with a sledge hammer and we removed 15 gallons of deposits out of the old hot waterheater. It only had a 40 gallon capacity so it was no wonder we ran out of hot water so fast. We believe it was the original hot water heater in our house so that makes it about 40 years old.

Troy has finally reached the point where he leave bank is full so has to take all the leave he earns each year or he will lose it. He had not been able to take leave with the ongoing accident investigation so he had to start using it and he took off the week of Elizabeth's birthday.

We observed Elizabeth's birthday by eating some apple pie and watching her open gifts.

Troy and Ann went to Don Robinson State Park for an anniversary walk. They enjoyed the sights and some fresh air.

This is the time of year when the sun reaches a place where we can see awesome sunsets.
