Puerto Rico - Old San Juan - August 2012

There were many things to see in Old San Juan. Troy decided to walk down there on Sunday. It took him about 80 minutes to make the walk that the hotel people said was about 20 minutes and he was not very happy about that plus he was extremely hungry. While walking over he see some of the invasive ants that are on the island. It looks like a mud ball on the tree and then their tunnels are mud on the trees and they cover any dead wood. He did find an Indian restaurant to eat at and it had a unique object on the counter.

Some of Troy's coworkers came over later and met him at the same place. He asked them if there was a cobra on the end of the bar but they apparently did not see it so he was a little confused when he was trying to find them. When he found them he pointed out the cobra and they were laughing that they missed such a large snake. Troy got some gifts for Ann and the girls from one of the vendors around the statue below. You will have to ask to see them when you are over for a visit.

The fort stretches around Old San Juan and there are many interesting things to see.

Old San Juan was very busy when Troy was there because a cruise ship was in port. You can see part of the ship in the picture on the right above the fort.

One of the most interesting things was the water collection system at the fort. Troy took a picture of the display about the water collection.
