The bees were really working in the blueberries and we appear to have a good fruit set. We had some monarchs enjoying the blueberry nectar as well. Elizabeth saw this butterfly on an apple tree.

Elizabeth continued making squares for her blanket. She is pictured below with many of the squares she and Ann crocheted. The girls sang at a nursing home with some other your people from church.

We celebrated Ann's birthday and enjoyed a yummy strawberry trifle.

We nearly had a swarm of bees but Troy was able to make a queen from one of the queen cells and successfully split the hive.

The paw paws were blooming and setting tiny fruits.

There was a bright flower along the sidewalk and some tulips in the blueberry rows.

Ann and Elizabeth went out to look for some mushrooms in the area where Troy usually finds them and they found two but it was pretty dry.

Troy returned from travel a few weeks later and he searched in the same area again. He found 5 dried out morels and two that were still good. He attempted to rehydrate the dried out mushrooms and had success. They would probably have been better in soup but they just needed a little more salt.

There were a lot of wildflowers in the woods even though it was still pretty dry.

There was a turtle trying to hid around the base of a tree. Troy couldn't tell if the turtle had just emerged from its winter hibernation.

In April Abby finished school and she had surgery. It was more complicated than the surgeon anticipated, taking about 4.5 hours. She insisted on no pictures.

Troy has a little garden at the place in Denver. The fig stick be brought out at Thanksgiving has sprouted and now has a small fig. His potato sprouts are growing and some of the pinto beans that didn't look good enough to cook sprouted.

At the end of April we received about 6 inches of rain in less than 48 hours.

We found a large worm out in the front yard. Not sure what type of butterfly or moth is may become. We put it on the tree and its coloration really matches the tree.
