December 2014

December started off with Troy taking an unexpected business trip and he came home to these signs on the door. In the process he visited his 49th state. Now he just has Hawaii left to go. Everyone thinks that "we" should go...

The banana tree finally reached the end of its flower stalk and we ended up with zero bananas setting. We have two other trees that appear to be getting close to flowering. We are hopeful that we can get some cross pollination and some fruit. We are tired of bringing the banana trees into the house for winter. Maybe we will have a greenhouse someday.

Troy took another unexpected business trip to Iowa because of a schedule change. The girls finished up school just before we headed over to Troy's parents. We had a good time visiting with them and we spent some time out at the ranch.

We opened presents with them.

We did move Elizabeth's snow-globe to the table.

We traveled home on Christmas Eve so Ann could play the piano at Mt Olive. After she and the girls got back from that we opened one present each. Ann was the most excited when she opened the clarinet Troy got for her. She begged and begged to open the gift with the reeds in it so she could play her clarinet. She stayed up late trying to get the fingerings all right so she could play a song. She played several songs and there were only a few squeaks and squawks.

Abigail and Elizabeth insisted that one gift for each person be hidden and we then had to find it. Elizabeth and Troy both looking for their gifts.

Abigail and Elizabeth were both promoted to new Sabbath school classes at church.
