Troy's parents came over to celebrate the New Year.

A few days later Troy left for a trip to the Detroit area (see the pictures below of the interstate) and experienced the "Polar Vortex" up close and personal. Troy was glad that he made it to his destination unlike 4 of his coworkers that were stuck in Mempis at the airport for 3 days. You can see how fast the snow was piling up on the plane in St. Louis before it left. Ann and the girls also experienced the cold and snow also.

The pond froze over and when it warmed then refroze it created some unique designs. We thought that they resembled honeycomb.

Meanwhile, at Troy's office his pineapple plant that he was about to get rid of sprouted a new limb. During the cold and travels of January Troy was able to connect with a former coworker, Gary DeWinkle, from Washington State for lunch.
